چکیده

We have designed and constructed a multimodal multiplex Raman spectrometer which uses multi-wavelength excitation to better detect signals in the presence of fluorescence by taking advantage of the shift-variance of the Raman signal with respect to excitation frequency. Coupled with partial-least-squares (PLS) regression, the technique applied to ethanol estimation in a tissue phantom achieves root-mean-squared-cross-validation errors (RMSCVE) of 9.2 mmol/L with a model formed with 2 principal components, compared to a single wavelength data set with equivalent energy where 7 principal components were used to achieve an RMSCVE of 39.1 mmol/L.

Detection and Characterization of Human Teeth Caries Using 2D Correlation Raman Spectroscopy

Background: Carious lesions are formed by a complex process of chemical interaction between dental enamel and its environment. They can cause cavities and pain, and are expensive to fix. It is hard to characterize in vivo as a result of environment factors and remineralization by ions in the oral cavity. Objectives: The development of a technique that gives early diagnosis which is non-invasi...

Classification and Quantitative Analysis of Azithromycin Tablets by Raman Spectroscopy and Chemometrics

Raman spectroscopy has been proven a noninvasive technique with high potential in pharmaceutical industry. In this study, micro Raman technique and chemometric tools were used for identification of azithromycin (AZM) tablets by different manufacturers and quantitative analysis of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in the samples. Support vector machine (SVM), Bayes classifier and K-near...
